This oak was chopped down and used for 3 family heirlooms for 3 different families, one which was the Yatrela family.
The bracer's finely carved from wood is round and over time shrinks to fit the user, and being unable to be taken off (history tells that its only a member of the family that experiences this feature, against outsiders, it will just act as a normal pair of wooden bracer's).
The carvings often show a person wandering (a person, a road and some trees). But when the powers within the bracer's are activated, they show the current situation he is in, as he sees it. If he is in a battle, they will show one person for each ally, fighting against one little creature per enemy displayed as the wearer sees the enemy. Also if he wanders in the city, the trees change to house. All these small changes are based on what the wearer sees, and will not reveal anything he have not noticed. They require a called “observation” of the bracer's, else one wont notice (Spot DC 25 if they are not observing it).
When worn by a druid, while the person is wild-shaping or changing shape in another matter, they will still be attached to the persons new form in some way after the spell is completed (they do not “dissapear as normal items).
A Personal Note about the bracer's: (as spoken by thomas)
They were first made for my grandfather, and he wore them with pride.
During the creation, the Yatrela family was spending days out at the oasis chanting, praying, and doing alot of magical arts, hoping that these rituals would forever put the family under protection. All this was done until finally, a cascade of colours flew over them, they recognized the colours as the rainbow. At the same time, they heard “the words” spoken to them - A Spirit of old, giving the blessing of his kind, granting this item great power when worn by one of pure blood and soul.
Well, that was what i was told anyway.
After that, the stories only tell of how a wood-crafter spend months carving the wandering man onto the bracer's.
I don't know if its smart to rely on the bracer's, or trust the bracer's. But it seems that when i wear them, they seem to whisper in my dreams. Teaching me how to live, fight, breathe. Almost as if the bracer's themselves are imprinting a person onto me.
Archives: The family history book says: That when my Grandfather had the bracer's, they were used mostly for show. When he went out to others, he wore them just to show off what the family was capable of, just like any other family heirloom. When he wasn't out, they were standing on a pedestal for easy observation. Not knowing of what enhancements was unleashed upon the item, it was considered jewellery for the family, at this time.
Archives: The family history book says: When my grandfather died, my uncle got the bracer's. He never showed them on a pedestal, instead he wore them all the time. Once wandering the dunes, he was attacked by a great Sand Scorpion, there was an epic battle and he was severely hurt. But as he laid in the sand, the bracer's started changing, healing him, caring for him. I do not know whether the bracer's spoke to my uncle or not, but I know that they had some magic in them even at this time. My uncle started having sages to research the bracer's, but with little luck. Most of the sages would say they were magical, but common for them all, they could not determine the magical properties. At this point, the bracer's was a mystery to my uncle, and so he tried to forget it because the family had other problems at the time.
