Alternativ regel for Force points. Kan selvfølgelig tages helt eller delvist. Dark side points variant rule: When gaining levels, one gains a "neutral" force point, if one has neither Light side nor Dark side points. When gaining levels and having Light side points, one gains a light side point. When gaining levels and having Dark side points, one gains a Dark side point. When commiting an act of heroism, one gains a Light side force point. When commiting an act of extreme evil, one gains a Dark side force point. Commiting an act may not always in itself be what it seems, sometimes acts can be opposite of what they seem, examples: A dark force user may help free some slaves without asking for pay, because he needs then to be a diversion, and be slain, for him to accomplish another goal. A good force-user may save an "innocent" farmer, by slaughtering tens, if not hundreds, of "evil" kidnappers. All in all, the overall effect and intention of acts should be considered when judging actions and the appliance of light or dark side points. It would for example also be wrong for the dark force user above to receive a light side point, if the slaves ends up not being killed, as he did have every intention to send them to their deaths unknowing. A neutral force force point can be used to call upon any side of the force. A character can have as many force points as usual. When using a neutral force point to call upon the Light side, one of the characters remaining neutral force points is converted to a Light side point. The same applies for calling upon the Dark side with a neutral point. When a character with light side points use a neutral point to call upon the dark side, the following happens: 1. He expends a neutral force point. 2. One of his remaining neutral points are converted into a dark side point. 3. His new dark side point is cancelled out against one of his light side points. Which effectively means that a character will end up loosing 3 points to call on the opposite side of the force, effectively meaning that once you start down a certain path, it's very difficult to change it, albeit not impossible. It is also "easier" to commit great evil acts, than great heroic acts. A Light side force point counts as a normal force point, but can only be used to call upon the Light side of the force. A Dark side force point counts as a normal force point, but can only be used to call upon the Dark side of the force. A character can not have both Light side and Dark side force points, they will automatically cancel each other out until the character only have one type, or neither. Neutral force points can also be expended to cancel out a Light or Dark side point. All actions that would usually give you a Dark side point (calling upon the Dark side, using a Dark side skill or feat etc.) does not give you a Dark side point. Dark side points are no longer a penalty, but a "reward" for evil force users. If a character has Light side force points, he is considered a "good" force user. He gains a +1 modifier to any light side feat/skill checks he uses, as well as social skill checks when interacting with Jedi or other Light side force users. At the same time, the character recieves a -2 penalty on Dark side feat/skill checks and social interaction skills against Dark side force users (except Intimidate and tracking, where it becomes a bonus; and a penalty against your "own kind"). If a character has Light side points equal to 1/4 of his wisdom score, this modifier increases to +2/-4, at 1/2 his wisdom score +3/-6, at 3/4 of his wisdom score to +4/-8 and finally if a character has as many Light side points as his wisdom score to +5/-10. The same apply, in reverse, for a Dark side force user. Also of note, the loss of physical abilities when leveling up and having a large number of Dark side points is also no longer applicable. An alternative rule, allowing those with either Light or Dark side points equal to, or greater than, their wisdom score to increase a mental ability by one point, at the cost of a point in a physical attribute, when leveling up could be an option, demonstrating a deeper insight into the force, at the expense of the physical stength, however this should be implemented for both sides if implemented, and likely voluntary as well.
